There are two schools actually in Leckhampton ward.
Leckhampton CofE Primary School in Hall Road, is our lovely local primary school, rated outstanding by Ofsted in a number of categories. It currently has around 600 pupils, admitting three forms of entry every year. Leckhampton’s headteacher is Miss Sam Porter.
Neighbouring primary schools include Naunton Park Primary in Naunton Lane, St James’ CofE Primary School in Merestones Road and Warden Hill Primary in Durham Close, Warden Hill. The fee-paying Richard Pate School is in Southern Road.
The brand new High School Leckhampton in Farm Lane is led by headteacher Helen Wood and is rated as outstanding in every category by Ofsted and also caters well for children with special needs. Initially based on the site of its parent school Balcarras in Charlton Kings, it opened its doors in Leckhampton in 2022 . HSL is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school with a local catchment area covering most of Leckhampton between Charlton Kings and the Shurdington Road (closing the old ‘Leckhampton corridor’ roughly along the Old Bath Road where generations of students struggled to get into any of their preferred schools). It will eventually have a capacity of 900 pupils. It is part of the Balcarras Trust.
