I hold no database of local voters myself and collect no data from this website. I do have access to a Liberal Democrat party database which is based on the public electoral register available to all political parties. I do keep emails and other digital communications from people who contact me, including constituents with problems or issues or anyone with a political or other opinion to share. I will keep these while I remain in office for my own reference, for referring to if the issues arise again and in case you contact me again – unless you ask me not to. I will not retain any of your personal data for more than five years after leaving office unless you ask me to. I assume that if you share with me your email address or other personal data, you are happy for me to store them in this very common way. I will not pass those personal data on to any third party unless you are yourself a publicly elected or appointed official or representative. The only exception to this would be to pass on some data to officers of the County, Borough or Parish Councils or their sub-contractors in order to help you resolve a problem, such as asking them not to miss your address out of recycling or waste collection or to inform you of the status of a planning application or other query. But I will generally avoid passing on personal data even to the councils if possible.
